Odyssey Parent Participation Group (OPPG)
The Odyssey Parent Participation Group (OPPG) is a volunteer group working exclusively on behalf of all children at Odyssey Charter School (OCS).
What OPPG can do for YOU:
- Offer many different opportunities to participate in your child’s education.
- Provide a place to meet other parents and discuss parent and school ideas or questions.
- Help your concerns be heard by Staff and/or the Odyssey Governing Board.
- Bring in and/or support current and new programs for our children.
- Give you a voice in deciding where money raised should be spent.
What YOU can do for OPPG:
- Attend at least 2 of the 5 OPPG meetings during the year. Meet other families, hear what is going on at school, and find out what you can do to help.
- Volunteer for events. The more parents that volunteer, the more successful our school is.
- Read information sent home in your Thursday Packets, and make sure you are part of the OCS Yahoo Group. If you are not getting OCS emails through Yahoo, please check in with Cari , OPPG Chair at carid@mac.com.
Please contact a member of the OPPG Leadership at any time with questions or comments. Also, please join us at our OPPG meetings on the following dates:

Monica Sottolani-Gamez, Co-Member at Large
This is our first year at OCS. My twin daughters, Chiara and Xiomara are in first grade. I look forward to getting more involved in my children's education and community building at OCS.
Erin Gamble, Co-Member at Large

We have two children at OCS - Seia, in Ms. Heather's 3rd grade, and Aidan, in Mr. Cullen's 5th grade. Since we moved to California from Colorado this past summer, this is our first year at OCS.
We have been inspired and impressed by many things at OCS - one of them being the degree to which the school communicates with and responds to the parent groups. Participating in OPPG gives me the opportunity to have a direct and concrete impact on my children's education.
