Dear Parents,

It's time to show the Odyssey Staff how much we appreciate all they do!

It's a week of spoiling them and it kicks off Monday February 27th.

Here's the schedule. Please participate as much as you can. Thank you!

And below that, you will also find some information on Casino Night.

Staff Appreciation Week is all this week:

February 27 - March 2nd

(this used to be at the end of the school year, but that was too busy of a time)

Here's the schedule. Mark your calendars and sign up for things as necessary:

Monday, February 27

Catered Lunch

The staff will be getting a yummy organic catered lunch.

Tuesday, February 28

Flower Day

Please have your child bring in 6 flowers. They can be any kind and from a store or your garden. The kids will put them in the courtyard before school. They can put them in their teacher and teacher's aide's areas and also any other staff member they want. Then, we will deliver a beautiful vase to every member of the staff.

Wednesday, February 29

Spa Day

Every staff member will get a 15 minute mini-massage.

Please bring in bath salts, soaps or chocolate. They are going to create a little spa atmosphere in Bungalow P and give the teachers little soaps or chocolates to take with them after their massage.

Thursday, March 1

All School Potluck Lunch for the Staff

Friday, March 2

Dr. Seuss Day & Card Day

Please have your child make a card, write a poem or draw a picture for their special staff

member(s). This is also Dr. Seuss day so there will be lots of activities planned for the kids. Volunteers will be needed to help at school this day, so plan to be at school for part of it, if you can. CASINO NIGHT

Get involved! This is a fun and BIG fundraiser. It's all to benefit our kids.

4 parts to this event. Please try to participate in as many as you can.

1. Buy Tickets & Attend the Event

March 24th at Mijares Restaurant

A super fun night of gaming, bidding, eating, drinking & music.

Childcare provided by Kids Klub.

$40 per ticket. (you couldn't get dinner, drinks, entertainment and a baby sitter for such a low price!!)

I've got mine, do you have yours? Invite family, friends, co-workers - make it a night to enjoy!

2. Class Baskets to be Auctioned

Please donate to your class basket and if you can't think of something to go with the theme, just give $10- $20 cash for your room parent to buy items to put it all together. Drop off your envelope marked with your class number at the front office.

3. Get Donations from Vendors

We will take any kind of donations to auction off at the event:

coupons from stores/restaurants (lunch, ice cream, movies, events, a dinner out..)

any kind of services (spa services, music lessons, exercise classes...)

any products (wines, book stores, specialty items...)

ANYTHING! The items are tax deductible for the vendor and we will group the items together in a basket with similar things or auction it alone for big ticket items. Ask around wherever you go. Thank you!

4. Raffle Tickets

TICKETS on SALE NOW! Buy them at the front office.

$5 each and a chance to win $500 cash! You need not be present to win.

Odyssey Produce Collective this week

We have a great box this week!

Featuring: Leeks, Spinach, Broccoli, Collard Greens, Oranges, Avocados, Strawberries, Kiwis, and Amorosa Potatoes. Yes, you read it right - strawberries!!!! (actual box contents subject to change due to the changes that come with growing fresh fruits & veggies)

We have 7 extra boxes this week and they go VERY quickly each week so if you'd like to snap one up please RSVP with Jennifer (jenwenzlaff@pacbell.net). The cost is $21.00

Reminder - Casino Night is coming up!

Dear Odyssey Families,

Hopefully everyone has been seeing the Thursday packet notices about our upcoming Casino Night and Silent Auction fundraiser. It's on March 24th, and tickets are now on sale in the front office.

* Event tickets are $40 each, and includes free childcare for a limited number of ticket holders -- so pick yours up early!

* Raffle tickets will be coming soon. We'll be raffling off a number of exciting prizes, including CASH, so stay tuned!

* The Silent Auction will feature everything from tickets to sporting events, amusement parks, museums and galleries, to certificates and in-kind donations from local businesses and restaurants.

* BUT -- we still need donations!! If you haven't yet turned in your donations, please finalize them and get them to the front office.

(Remember, donation letters have been attached to the Thursday packets, and can also be downloaded from the website: Parents/Documents&Forms/CasinoNightSolicitationForm)

* Feel free to invite family, friends and other members of the community to the party! They are welcome to purchase event tickets and attend - OR - you do not need to be present to win the raffle. Anyone can purchase raffle tickets, and we will notify the winners. (Again, raffle tickets are still en-route from the printer, and will be on sale in the front office in a few days.)

Odyssey Produce Collective: Extra boxes & the yummy stuff in them.

The Odyssey Produce Collective & eroots box this week: Blood Oranges, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Carrots, Kale, Chard, Greenleaf Lettuce, Garnett Yams, Butternut Squash, and Navel Oranges.

We have 5 extra boxes this week -- they go fast every week, so please reserve on with Jennifer (jenwenzlaff@pacbell.net) or stop by the teacher's lounge to see if one is available.

We are starting to compile a list of folks who are interested in purchasing our weekly extra boxes . Please feel free to email Jennifer Wenzlaff if you'd like to get on our list and we will email you directly to let you know what is in this week's box or feel free to join the eroots facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eroots/323063061037825) so you can decide if you'd like to pick up any of our extra boxes for the week.

Odyssey Produce Collective now has extra boxes every Thursday

Starting this week we have 5 additional boxes for sale every week. If you are interested in reserving a box in advance please email Jennifer Wenzlaff at jenwenzlaff@pacbell.net by Wednesday evening. If all 5 boxes are not reserved we will sell them on a first come first serve basis on Thursday afternoon. Here's a sneak peak at this week's box:

Meyer Lemons, Tangelos, Navel Oranges, Baby Bella Mushrooms, Chinese Lettuce, Collard Greens, Red Beets, and Bok Choy (Actual box contents for Thurs can differ depending upon the ever-changing world of growing fresh fruit and veggies).
