Throughout the year, we have school events that give you the opportunity to socialize - and - help support the school. One event is our annual Silent Auction. Click here for information about this upcoming event.

We also give back to the community! At the end of each school year, we run a Charity Marketplace.

Charity Marketplace is a trademark tradition at Odyssey Charter School. It is one element to Odyssey's "Classroom Without Walls", which teaches Social Responsibility. Charity Marketplace began in Odyssey's 3rd year of operation, in the wake of September 11th. The students decided to create a "Charity Marketplace" to assist local charities. Since then, each year, students are given the opportunity to create their own business or work for another student-run business. The student businesses make handcrafted items, baked goodies, or provide entertainment to sell at our annual Charity Marketplace, usually held in the last few weeks of the school year.

In creating their business, students must also research a charity of their choosing in which to donate 50% of their profits. Throughout this process, each business must keep inventory records, supply orders and a budget. Each business is given a budget and must pay back their debt to the school at the end of the project. The businesses create business names, logos and business cards. At the culmination of Charity Marketplace the students pay their bills, then send money, along with a written letter, to their chosen charity. Over the past five years student businesses have donated over $3,500 to local charities.
