Next Week
September 24, 2011
Hello Room 7 Families, next week we will be starting word study. On Monday your student will bring home a list of 5 word wall words for the week that we will be practicing on in class. The words for nex week are: and, am, that, can, do. Along with the list that your student brings home they will begin meeting me with their group this week. I will meet with a group daily and when we do so they will be bringing home the sort that they will be working on for the week.
Our students were given a book contract on Thursday. Once this contract has been received your student will begin bringing "just right" books home to read Monday-Thursday. It is their responsibility to bring the book bag to class daily and exchange the books.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Ask Me About
September 23, 2011
Hello Room 7 Families, today we came up with some of this weeks highlights! Ask your students about:
- Taking notes - this week we took notes on some activities that we will start doing next week for word study (pyramid writing, rainbow writing and stamping)
- Computer lab - second graders did the STAR Reading test and we played Cover Orange
- Music - Mr. Nick visited our class this week and we talked about different genres of music. We are going to listening to music and talk about what it makes us feel.
- P.E. - this week we played soccer and learned how to do washing machines, grass pickers, side shifts and moon jumping.

What I did last summer
September 01, 2009
This summer I had the privilege of spending a week in Santa Barbara for professional development in one of our math curriculums that we use, “Contexts for Learning.” I spent a lot of time in my new place enjoying the peace and relaxation. I took a few trips to the beach and enjoyed the beautiful California weather. I also had the joy of spending a week with my nephew Aydan and doing the fun things three year olds like to do.
