Enrollment
Enrolling your child at Odyssey Charter School is a quick and simple three step process that includes:
- Attending a school tour to learn about our school, our educational philosophies, and approaches, and be able to ask questions, see the campus, and see how children are learning in our classrooms
- Completing and sumbitting the Registration Form given to all tour participants so that you may form part of our enrollment lottery
- Wait and expect to hear from us approximatley one week after our enrollment lottery which at this point is scheduled for March 12, 2010.
Tours are scheduled monthly at and allow guests to spend time with a school administrator answering your questions and informing you of the great features of our school.
Tour dates and information on how to attend a school tour

Enrollment Policy
Admission to Odyssey Charter School is open to any resident of the state of California. Odyssey Charter School pledges to use non-discriminatory processes and will actively recruit a diverse student population from the communities being served by Odyssey within the territorial jurisdiction of the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
During the fall enrollment period, if the number of children who wish to attend Odyssey exceeds the schools capacity or the capacity of a particular grade, enrollment will be determined by a public random drawing by family, except for existing pupils of the charter school. Each Family Lottery will include three random drawings to determine enrollment status in the following order; Staff Preference, Sibling(s) of current students, New Families. Odyssey will maintain a Waiting List for students not selected through the lottery process. Any openings to be filled during the school year will be filled first through the Waiting List and then on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Parents must attend a Parent Orientation Meeting/Parent Tour to be eligible for the Lottery.
Prior to enrollment Parents must sign the Parent Agreement to:
- Acknowledge that they understand and value the schools vision and the distinctive characteristics of the educational program as described in the Charter; and that they agree to adhere to the schools policies and procedures
- Acknowledge that they understand that failure to adhere to the Parent Agreement may result in forfeiture of enrollment.
- Affirm their commitment to actively participate in their child's education both at school and at home. Parents and their children who are enrolling must also sign the Student Agreement acknowledging that they have read and discussed the expectations as a family and agree to work together to achieve those expectations.
Given that enrollment in Odyssey is a "parent choice." transportation will be the responsibility of the parent and will not be provided by Odyssey, except in specific cases where transportation may be otherwise mandated by law.
Consistent with Education Code Section 48000, et. seq., Kindergarten students must be at least five years old by December 2 and first graders must be age six by December 2.
