Lauren O'Neill, Executive Director
Lauren is a progressive public school educator who has made a career in the Pasadena area for the past 21 years. She joined a group of passionate educators as a founding teacher at Odyssey Charter School in 1999. Since then, she has held multiple roles at Odyssey leading up to Executive Director. During her tenure as Odyssey’s Executive Director over the past nine years, she has overseen the schools growth from 260 students to over 400, ensured students’ learning and sustained achievement, and upheld its mission of educating all students on an individual level. Lauren grew up in Pasadena, attended Pasadena public schools, graduated from Blair High School, earned a Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University, and a Master's degree and Teaching Credential from Pacific Oaks College. Beyond the many hours spent at Odyssey, she enjoys gardening, traveling, reading, and biking the local trails of Altadena.

Carlos García Saldaña, Assistant Director
2015 marks Carlos’ seventh year at Odyssey Charter School, and tenth year as an educator. As Assistant Director he oversees the areas of assessment, accountability, reporting, marketing, and technology. Prior to joining Odyssey, he spent eleven years working in higher education in counseling/advising and student affairs. Carlos earned a B.S. in Marketing & International Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona, an M.Ed. in Counseling & Personnel Services from the University of Maryland and is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Educational Leadership for Social Justice at Loyola Marymount University.

Rachelle Martinez, Director of Operations
This is Rachelle's tenth year with Odyssey Charter School. Prior to joining Odyssey, Rachelle worked at Cal Poly Pomona as the Coordinator of Residential Education and Leadership for the Housing Department, as well as the Project Coordinator for the Careers in Child Care Project at East Los Angeles College. Rachelle has worked with the National Conference for Community and Justice doing Human Relations training's, and was the Director of NCCJ's Latina/o College Leadership Institute. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Child Development at Whittier College and her Master of Arts Degree in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Organization Development from the University of San Diego. She enjoys spending her free time at Disneyland with her family. 

Katrina Franklin, Business Manager
Katrina Franklin has garnered 10 years of accounting experience working as a Tour Accountant, Non-Profit Auditor, & Tax Preparer & Research Analyst. Prior to working at Odyssey, Katrina found her passion for serving charter schools & students as an Accounting Associate in 2010 at Excellent Education Development. She worked her way up the ranks to Assistant Vice President of School Finance where Odyssey was a part of her accounting client portfolio. Katrina joined the Odyssey team in 2013 as the Business Manager overseeing the Human Resources and Financial Operations of the school. Katrina attained her BA in 2006  from the University of California Santa Cruz and  earned her Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2009.

Mayra Martinez, Administrative Assistant
Mayra Martinez has been a member of the Odyssey Administrative team since 2009.  She enjoys working with the Odyssey Charter School community of parents and students.  Mayra graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.A. in English Literature.  During her free time, Mayra enjoys spending quality time with her family, creative writing and watching her favorite sports teams.  

Boonrasi Norman, Community & Volunteer Coordinator
Boonrasi Norman has been a staff member at Odyssey since 2010.  She received her B.A. in English Literature from University of California, Los Angles.  She also has a degree Culinary Arts, with a specialty in baking.  In her free time, Boonrasi enjoys reading, dancing, boxing, eating, fashion, and spending time with her husband, son, and dog. Boonrasi is honored to work with so many passionate educators and to be a part of the Odyssey community.

Sarah Okun, Special Education Coordinator
I grew up in New England and graduated from Williams College in 2000. I began teaching in special education in 2005 and earned my masters from George Mason University in 2006. My family moved to Pasadena from Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2014, and love being so close to the mountains and the ocean. When I'm not on campus at OCS, you can find me running, hiking, and chasing after my three children.

Chasityflame Price, K - 4th Grde Inclusion Specialist
This is Chasityflame's first year at Odyssey.  She completed her Liberal Studies BA and Education Specialist Credential at California State University Northridge.  Chasityflame has previously worked as a Program Director of a non profit after school program.  She also volunteers as an art teacher for a performing and visual arts summer camp.  In her free time she loves going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, trying new recipes, and watching movies.

Tori Paddock, 5th & 6th Grade Inclusion Specialist
Tori Paddock was drawn to Odyssey Charter School because of its belief that children learn best by ''doing''. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of South Carolina, Tori moved moved home to New Orleans and enrolled in teachNOLA (The New Teacher Project). While enrolled in this  program, she earned her Special Education Credential and taught a first grade inclusion class. In 2012, Tori and her husband decided to return to Los Angeles. Since then, she has served as a Reading Interventionist and RSP teacher at Citizens of the World- Hollywood. She has also taught second grade with a high population of English Language Learners in an inclusion setting at Equitas Academy Charter School. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog Otis, traveling to new countries, and exploring new California beaches with her husband. 

Maya James, Speech & Language Assistant
Maya has worked at Odyssey since 2000. Her career with children began as a TA in the 2-3 grade classroom, then found her niche with special needs students. To complement her CBEST papers she specialized her education in 2012 to become a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and continues to support the students of Odyssey with a happy smile and cheerful greeting.
