What I did over the summer

August 31, 2009

Spent 7 days in Yosemite, danced at 3 wedding receptions, saw over 30 relatives back East, read a handful of books, ran about 150 miles, climbed close to 30 new routes, biked about 80 miles, hiked to 2 new waterfalls, barbequed over 50 plates of food and got plenty of sleep, dreaming of an awesome new school year

Welcome Back Letter (Sent by postal mail over the summer)

August 31, 2009

Dear 7th and 8th grade families,

It's our pleasure as your new teachers to welcome you into the 2009-2010 school year! We hope that you are all enjoying summer vacation as much as we are. Even so, there are a couple of things we'd like for you to be mindful of as the next school year begins:

Room Parents
When it comes to organizing field trips, parties, Earth Day, Stone Soup Day, or other educational events, room parents are always leading the charge in supporting the students and teachers. The OCS community has always been fortunate to have such supportive parents! If you are interested in being a room parent or just informally helping out occasionally, please contact us.

Supplies List
There are certain things each student needs on the first day of school and they are noted on our supplies list. There are also things that we need donated as a class. Again, it is such a pleasure to work with so many helpful parents. The first day of school usually sees a pouring in of donations from smiling students and parents, and it is these donations that carry us through the year! You'll find a list of required supplies and donations on our website. As always, we thank you for your continued support.

Your Contact Info
If your contact information (phone numbers, physical address, postal address) has changed then please let the office know ASAP. If you already did this in June through your reenrollment form, then no need to do it again.

Looking forward to another great school year!

Aaron Bergmann
